سُوۡرَةُ المَائدة
وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡہِمۡ نَبَأَ ٱبۡنَىۡ ءَادَمَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ إِذۡ قَرَّبَا قُرۡبَانً۬ا فَتُقُبِّلَ مِنۡ أَحَدِهِمَا وَلَمۡ يُتَقَبَّلۡ مِنَ ٱلۡأَخَرِ قَالَ لَأَقۡتُلَنَّكَۖ قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
Al Maidah:27
Dan bacakanlah (wahai Muhammad) kepada mereka kisah (mengenai) dua orang anak Adam (Habil dan Qabil) yang berlaku dengan sebenarnya, iaitu ketika mereka berdua mempersembahkan satu persembahan korban (untuk mendampingkan diri kepada Allah). Lalu diterima korban salah seorang di antaranya (Habil) dan tidak diterima (korban) dari yang lain (Qabil). Berkata (Qabil): Sesungguhnya aku akan membunuhmu!. (Habil) menjawab: Hanyasanya Allah menerima (korban) dari orang-orang yang bertakwa.
And (O Muhammad SAW) recite to them (the Jews) the story of the two sons of Adam (Hâbil and Qâbil — Abel and Cain)] in truth; when each offered a sacrifice (to Allâh), it was accepted from the one but not from the other. The latter said to the former: “I will surely kill you.” The former said: “Verily, Allâh accepts only from those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious).
لَٮِٕنۢ بَسَطتَ إِلَىَّ يَدَكَ لِتَقۡتُلَنِى مَآ أَنَا۟ بِبَاسِطٍ۬ يَدِىَ إِلَيۡكَ لِأَقۡتُلَكَۖ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
Al Maidah:28
Demi sesungguhnya! Jika engkau hulurkan tanganmu kepadaku untuk membunuhku, aku tidak sekali-kali akan menghulurkan tanganku kepadamu untuk membunuhmu. Kerana sesungguhnya aku takut kepada Allah, Tuhan Yang mentadbirkan sekalian alam.
“If you do stretch your hand against me to kill me, I shall never stretch my hand against you to kill you, for I fear Allâh; the Lord of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinn, and all that exists).”
إِنِّىٓ أُرِيدُ أَن تَبُوٓأَ بِإِثۡمِى وَإِثۡمِكَ فَتَكُونَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلنَّارِۚ وَذَٲلِكَ جَزَٲٓؤُاْ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Al Maidah:29
Sesungguhnya aku mahu supaya engkau kembali dengan (membawa) dosa (membunuhku) dan dosamu sendiri. Maka dengan itu menjadilah engkau dari ahli Neraka dan itulah dia balasan orang-orang yang zalim.
“Verily, I intend to let you draw my sin on yourself as well as yours, then you will be one of the dwellers of the Fire, and that is the recompense of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong¬doers).”
فَطَوَّعَتۡ لَهُ ۥ نَفۡسُهُ ۥ قَتۡلَ أَخِيهِ فَقَتَلَهُ ۥ فَأَصۡبَحَ مِنَ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِينَ
Al Maidah:30
Maka nafsu jahat (Qabil) mendorongnya (sehingga dia tergamak) membunuh saudaranya, lalu dia membunuhnya. Oleh itu menjadilah dia dari golongan orang-orang yang rugi.
“So the Nafs (self) of the other (latter one) encouraged him and made fair¬seeming to him the murder of his brother; he murdered him and became one of the losers.”
فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ غُرَابً۬ا يَبۡحَثُ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِيُرِيَهُ ۥ كَيۡفَ يُوَٲرِى سَوۡءَةَ أَخِيهِۚ قَالَ يَـٰوَيۡلَتَىٰٓ أَعَجَزۡتُ أَنۡ أَكُونَ مِثۡلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡغُرَابِ فَأُوَٲرِىَ سَوۡءَةَ أَخِىۖ فَأَصۡبَحَ مِنَ ٱلنَّـٰدِمِينَ
Al Maidah:31
Kemudian Allah hantarkan seekor burung gagak (menyuruhnya) mengorek-ngorek di bumi supaya diperlihatkan kepada (Qabil) bagaimana cara menimbus mayat saudaranya. (Qabil) berkata: Wahai celakanya aku! Alangkah lemah serta bodohnya aku, aku tidak tahu berbuat seperti burung gagak ini, supaya aku dapat menimbuskan mayat saudaraku?. Kerana itu menjadilah dia dari golongan orang-orang yang menyesal.
Then Allâh sent a crow who scratched the ground to show him to hide the dead body of his brother. He (the murderer) said: “Woe to me! Am I not even able to be as this crow and to hide the dead body of my brother?” Then he became one of those who regretted.
